net) with the maximum-likelihood algorithm and a boot-strap of 1,000 replicates, we constructed a phylogenetic tree (online Technical Appendix Figure). All 8 sequences clustered within subtype 4d of HEV. The sequences were similar to each other (95.5%–99.8% similarity in nucleotide sequence) and similar to sequences reported for other cattle (83.3%–85.3%; online Technical Appendix Figure). More...
متن کاملSeroprevalence of avian hepatitis E virus and avian leucosis virus subgroup J in chicken flocks with hepatitis syndrome, China
BACKGROUND From 2014 to 2015 in China, many broiler breeder and layer hen flocks exhibited a decrease in egg production and some chickens developed hepatitis syndrome including hepatomegaly, hepatic necrosis and hemorrhage. Avian hepatitis E virus (HEV) and avian leucosis virus subgroup J (ALV-J) both cause decreasing in egg production, hepatomegaly and hepatic hemorrhage in broiler breeder and...
متن کاملAssociation between KIR Genes and Efficacy of Treatment of HBeAg-Positive Chronic Hepatitis B Patients with Entecavir
Background: Entecavir (ETV) is commonly used to treat chronic hepatitis B (CHB) in China. However, certain percentages of e-Antigen (HBeAg) positive CHB patients do not respond to ETV therapy. Objective: To investigate whether the killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) genes were associated with seroconversion in HBeAg positive CHB responder patients treated with ETV. Methods: Polymerase cha...
متن کاملHepatitis E Virus Genotype Diversity in Eastern China
We studied 47 hepatitis E virus (HEV) isolates from hospitalized patients in Nanjing and Taizhou, eastern China. Genotypes 1, 3, and 4 were prevalent; genotype 3 and subgenotype 4b showed a close relationship with the swine strains in eastern China, thus indicating that HEV genotype 3 had infected humans in China.
متن کاملGenotype 4 Hepatitis E Virus Prevalent in Eastern China Shows Diverse Subtypes
BACKGROUND Hepatitis E Virus (HEV), a zoonotic pathogen, uses several species of animal as reservoirs. Swine is considered as the major reservoir for HEV infection in humans. Genotype 4 HEV is the dominant cause of hepatitis E disease in humans in China. OBJECTIVES Although many researches revealed that genotype 4 HEV is the main genotype that prevalent in eastern China, few researches have d...
